Frequently Asked Questions
Is chiropractic safe?
Yes. Chiropractors in Australia are registered allied health professionals who complete a minimum of five years of full-time university study. They are trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those relating to the spine. Our chiropractors provide evidence-based care tailored to your needs and use a variety of safe and effective techniques.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit will include a comprehensive assessment and consultation. We’ll take a full history, perform relevant physical tests, and explain any findings. If appropriate, treatment will be provided or further imaging or referrals will be recommended. Please allow up to 45 minutes for this visit.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No referral is necessary. You can book directly. However, we happily accept referrals under Medicare's EPC program, DVA, or WorkCover, and we can process these on the spot for eligible patients.
Can I claim private health insurance?
Yes. We offer on-the-spot private health claiming at our Tumut clinic. In other locations, we can provide email receipts to help you claim directly with your insurer. We're working to expand instant claiming as our clinic grows.
Do you accept Medicare EPC referrals from my GP?
Absolutely. We bulk bill the Medicare portion directly. There is a small out-of-pocket fee:
Initial consult: $29.65
Follow-up consults: $9.65
If this cost is a barrier, please speak with our team confidentially—we’re here to help.
What conditions do chiropractors treat?
We manage a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns, including:
Back and neck pain
Headaches and migraines
Sciatica
Postural issues
Sports injuries
Shoulder and hip dysfunction
Chronic pain
We work collaboratively with other health professionals when needed.
Do you treat children and babies?
Yes. Our chiropractors are trained in gentle, age-appropriate techniques for babies and children. We assess mobility, posture, and development, and always prioritise comfort and safety.
Do you offer care during pregnancy?
Yes. Pregnancy care focuses on supporting alignment and easing discomfort as your body changes. We use safe, modified techniques suited for all stages of pregnancy.
Do you provide X-rays?
If imaging is clinically necessary, we’ll refer you to a trusted local radiology provider. We’ll help interpret results and guide you on next steps for care.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You’ll remain fully clothed during treatment, but we may ask you to perform simple movements for assessment.
What if I’m nervous about treatment?
That’s completely okay. We’ll take the time to explain everything and tailor your care to your preferences. You're in control at every step, and we’ll never perform any treatment without your full understanding and consent.
